Beogradski Sindikat – Oni su

If I find a version with english subtitle, I`ll post it…
Basicly it`s a pre-elections warning to politicians in Serbia to let them know that this is their chance to finally get rid of the past times and move forward…
For those that don`t know – October 5th 2000 revolution was not as succesful as many think it was… Milosevic`s people along with new mafia and tycoons are still present in public life of Serbia and even running it in a way…

  1. Is this for real? Jel ovo prava prijetnja politicarima ili samo jos jedan suplja u nizu… garant znas bolje od mene, ako nije suplja, svaka im cast!
Our politicians need to be accountable to someone for sure and that someone should be the body that has elected them but since in our countries everything is, more or less, upside down in this matter, i hope that threats work… since nothing else does…

  2. Well, I doubt that these guys would do anything on their own :), but they are really influental… People like them and listen to what they say and each song they make always brings lots of attention and discussion in the public…
BTW, this song is censored on all TV stations in Serbia at the moment, which bring even more attention… All newspapers are talking about it, all public persons are discusing it, every kid in the street is talking about it…
Even if I forget about this song – it seems that hip-hop scene in Serbia is quite strong… They are “moving” the people, regardless of their musial taste… And I guess that`s good…

Just check discussion on http://blog.b92.net/node/3354, which is a VIP blog system of B92 network (it`s invite only blog system with people from public life of Serbia – politicians, actors, writers etc.)

So yeah, these guys probably won`t do anything concrete on their own, but politicans are affraid of them… and they have lots of influence on people… so if just 100 people change their mind and decide to vote (there is a big apathy in serbia re the elections because we`re all sick of them already), then I`ll consider this song very succesful. If only one politician gets it really seriously and starts working more responsibly, then I`ll consider it succesful too…
